An Altar is a portal that allows you to gain support from the spirit world. Ancestral Altars changed my life. For many years I had deep longing in my heart for my relatives that passed before me. My grandmother and sister passed away when I was a youth. Followed by the passing of a child, grandfather and great grand mother several years later. With each passing it made it hard for me to receive healing or closure. Many years later, when I began working with altars, I finally was able to feel healed and connected. I no longer felt alone or like they were gone because my ancestral altar functions as a portal that allows me to feel their presence and receive their guidance.
How to Build an Altar
Setting up an Ancestral Altar is easy. All you need is:
- Wooden Table or hand-made Altar
- Fire (Candles or incense)
- Water (Cup of water)
- Earth (Coins, rocks, crystals, seeds, plants etc)
- Air (Incense or Bell)
- Spirit (Pictures, or written names of deceased ancestors)
- Offerings (Food, fruits, prayer, time, money, Ancestor Money, tobacco, liquor, flowers, jewelry, perfume, poetry etc)

Ancestor money is one of my favorite offerings to burn for my ancestors. The night I used my altar for the first time, 2 of my ancestors, (my grandma and sister), came to me in a dream. They told me to get hell money. I was so scared to use it because of the name, and working with altars was still fairly new to me. However, I trusted the guidance of my ancestors and purchase ancestor money from El 9 Shop. My finances started to steadily increase and my intuition has been even stronger. I highly recommend burning ancestor money.
